First: An Easy New Year's Resolution
At the beginning of a new year, people look forward to improving their lives and typically make New Year's resolutions. For those who have begun using my complimentary Tool, that's easy. They can simply resolve to continue using the Tool so that all the new mental pathways that they have established over this past year will continue to have the trance time they need to work on solving various discomforts and problems.
Interlude:
But this is also a time to look back at what's been accomplished over the past year. What problems did you have that have now been solved? These can be hard to discern because such changes usually happen gradually and therefore may not register as changes.
Have you been any less stressed at work? Have any of your relationships gone more smoothly? Or, have you decided to terminate a relationship that wasn't going well? Have you made any changes that will improve your health? Altered any habits so that you've become more efficient? Have any chores become less onerous? Have you become less bothered by any pet peeves? Perhaps you've found yourself less anxious about problems that arise or less easily irritated when things don't go as you would like them to.
Second: Another New Year's Resolution
All that said, perhaps we can turn to our thoughts back to the future and look forward with hopeful anticipation to picture how we can become even more comfortable in the coming year. I would suggest that you not think about how to "improve" yourself but, rather, how to make yourself more comfortable.
A recent article in The New York Times describes a study in which people described their daily activities and found that they had more leisure time than they had thought. The article suggests that they therefore do have time to exercise even though they hadn't realized that.
While reading this article, it dawned on me that by riding my exercycle while watching episodes from The Great Courses I could simultaneously become even more fit while learning interesting new information. I've begun, and although I'm both enhancing my health and increasing my knowledge, it's not work; it's not a struggle. It's something I look forward to!
In what way would you like to become more comfortable in 2020? You can use my complimentary Tool to achieve it. In Step 3, instead of wishing to feel peaceful and calm, wish for a specific way in which you would like to become more comfortable. You will thereby create a new mental pathway that will work to achieve that goal.
Happy New Year!
