You Have Probably Had Times Like That. I Have.

Have you ever had the experience of having several things in your home (or other personal space) break or otherwise go wrong in close succession.? I have. Although I am not a superstitious person, I have found that they sometimes seem to come in threes; for example, 1) an appliance breaks, 2) the car's battery dies, and 3) (worst of all) something screwy happens in my email system, rendering me temporarily incommunicado. At such times, it feels as though things are going wrong faster than they can be fixed. Things are out of control!

Although these kinds of situations are disturbing, they are usually short-lived. Not so for some of the problems that have arisen nationally or globally.

Do You Get Upset when the World Seems Out of Control?

There are people who become chronically anxious, angry and/or depressed because they feel that the world is out of control! What is happening to their culture, and possibly their livelihood, as immigration causes changes in demographics?  Will violent extremists threaten their safety? Is the government becoming too autocratic, curtailing their freedoms? Or too ineffectual, neglecting to help them with their hardships? Will the increasing conflict between nations lead to war? Are the world's governments failing to deal with climate change, endangering the survival of our species and many others?

Years ago, when things seemed out of control in my personal space, I would become dismayed and exasperated. Would things ever be right again? And I would feel angry about societal conditions that resulted in unfairness.

There is a Solution for This  

Now, thanks to my own use of the Emotional Comfort Tool, I know that things can, indeed, be right again. It will just take a little effort to get back to that state. As for the problems in the wider world, rather than feeling angry, I react by trying to think of solutions for them.
