Where Do We Begin?

I've described the Inner Guide, a new mental pathway that you can create in your mind, which is dedicated to ending your discomforts and solving problems. Its work is never done, because we are periodically confronted with new problems. For instance, teachers are currently experiencing new problems: increased misbehavior by students who have lost some of their socialization skills during the pandemic, culture wars over what can be taught, and the fear of violence by shooters.

Many teachers have simply quit. Others have moved to private schools. Still others have organized strikes for better pay, smaller classrooms, and even actions for the "common good," such as ensuring that their students are not homeless. Some have also protested new directives from administration (and those further up the hierarchy).

These actions, while admirable, cause piecemeal improvements. But what would a definitive solution be, and who might provide it?

Imagine a world in which teachers:

  • are respected as the highly skilled professionals they are,
  • are appropriately compensated,
  • have regained the autonomy they've had in the past,
  • have ample supplies and support,
  • have optimal class sizes,
  • engage with students who are adequately socialized and eager to learn.

How would we get there?

A teacher's Inner Guide would be dedicated to:

  • helping that teacher make the best choice for her or his immediate situation,
  • working to solve the current problems in education,
  • helping to create a new educational climate in which teachers and students could thrive.

The latter goals would take time. So, there's no time to waste! You can acquire your Inner Guide now, with my course Achieving Emotional Comfort®, which is available at: go.emotionalcomfort.com/getcourse
